Outer Hebrides

Article text
Lewis
Just returned from a 2 week tour of the Outer Hebrides with Claire.
Dramatic inky blue skies, white sands and wild winds were in plentiful supply.
To be honest I was getting fed up with the endless hot sunny days we were having back at home.
The light was, what can I say...... the same. Colder temperatures and stunning scenery were just the ticket. Have enclosed a little photo I took remotely to show how good the new routing possibilities are on the island of Lewis. The crag shown has only a few routes and the route featured is myself on the 2nd ascent of a fabulous line. I'm going to leave you to guess the grade. We even managed a quick visit to the Great Benera crag, featured in the Dave Macleod, Tim Emmett Five islands film and it really is as good as the film suggests.
To finish up we visited some friends on western sky and had a great time. The hi-lite of the trip to Neist was me ending up on an E5 by mistake. Am sure that finger crack looked E1 :-).
