Blackers Hole

End of the day at Blackers Hole
Just returned from a scintillating 3 days photographing Tom Randall, Mark Richardson and Robin Richmond whilst they battle their way up the the jaw dropping cave of Blackers Hole in Swanage.
Just getting to this place is gripping with a spicy Tyrolean above the sea. Photographing the routes is challenging to say the least as most of the routes start at the back of the cave.
Scary abseils, loose rock and spinning in space are order of the day here. The reward though is shots that haven't seen before in a staggering position. I was lucky to have the evening light as the guys emerged from the blackness onto the upper section of Infinite Gravity 8a+. This has to be the most impressive sports route on a sea cliff I have seen anywhere! One of my best shots to date which has been selected to go in my long-term book project.
To get an idea what the shots can look like, imagine a climber glowing in the evening light on the attached photo. Well that's pretty much what happened

Some new routing was also going on in the background, but I shall not spoil the story and will aim to fill you in on this in the near future.
