Sudan Granite

Kassala Mosque at sunset
Just returned from a highly successful expedition to climb new rock with the Expedition Consultancy in the Taka Mountains of North Sudan
A beautiful land full of lovely people and stunning granite. I have never felt so welcome in a foreign country.
A lot of thanks must go to Dave Lucus our expedition leader for his careful planning and fine attention to our health and safety on this trip. We wouldn't have been able to do half of the stuff we did without his extensive knowledge of the Arabic language. and culture.
Kassala is situated near the Eritrea boarder and boasts a rich nation of coffee drinkers. We indulged heavily in this whilst searching out new rock to climb.
My job was to document the trip for the Expedition Consultancy and provide photos for the marketing of future trips.
I shall be lecturing on the outcome of this trip and writing a magazine article for Climb Magazine, which will be out in the autumn
